Ok, I finally found it.
The cutest workout shirt…that is even cuter if you’re a serious sweater like me. Let me explain:
While surfing the wonderful black hole of time that is Pinterest, I stumbled upon a shirt from ViewSport. These shirts claimed to make cute little designs pop up on your shirt once you start sweating. This I HAD to try.
So, ViewSport sent me two tank tops to try out.
The first one I tried out was THIS ONE – the grey “Faster, Better, Stronger” tank.
Now, the tank itself is cute. It’s a good cut – not too snug, but not crazy loose like some tanks. This is me in a size small tank before my workout.
I threw this guy on for a little Arm Day workout. And, after a workout of way to many cleans, curls and a new bench max of 170lbs (yay!) I noticed the cutest thing – my sweat had caused the words “Faster, Better, Stronger” to appear.
Here’s my before/after:
I liked the fabric of this shirt, too. Viewsport calls this their “Performance Tank” fabric. It’s not too cottony and it had a little stretch to it. Super comfy. And the arm holes didn’t restrict my movement at all – kind of a deal breaker on heavy bench day. The grey is kind of muted – it seemed like a good color for my yoga workouts. But for my cardio or weight days, I think I’d prefer a brighter color. Next time, I’d probably try a little more colorful one – like this same tank in red (check it out here.)
It was fun to watch the words pop up as I started sweating. All the girls at the gym kept watching my stomach to see if anything had started to show up. Talk about pressure to make sure you’re pushing it during your workout.
On leg day, I decided to throw on the “Strength is Beautiful” tank. Now, this guy is a really pretty shade of blue.
The girls at the gym were digging this shirt before they even knew it was a ViewSport tank.
This shirt went through the ringer for Leg Day: deadlifts, lunges, and not to forget a killer ab circuit. After the workout, the back of the tank had “train harder” pop out in the back of the tank.
I really did love this one. I’m pretty sure this will make it into the rotation of my go-to workout tanks.
One thing to note – I wore my Rehband belt during my deadlifts and the Velcro caught the shirt and pulled a few little spots on the fabric. I’m sure it would be fine to wear with a normal lifting belt, just be careful if you’re planning on putting on a Velcro belt.
They also have THIS shirt that I’m definitely going to be ordering. It’s pink and says “Do It” which turns into “Don’t Quit” when you sweat. It has the option of ordering this one in cotton. I only tried the “performance tank” style, but I’d be curious how the cotton one feels.
Now, I’m a busy girl (and one that hates laundry) so, I was worried that this special material might require special washing instructions – wrong. I just tossed this guy in the washing machine with my other gym clothes and when I wore it again – BAM, sweat activated words still showed up.
These are really cute and comfortable tanks by themselves. And the fact that they have sweat-activated material that makes the words pop up makes them even cuter.
I like that the shirt kind of becomes a game – am I working hard enough yet to make the words come up? If not, maybe I need to push harder.
So, bottom line – I really like these shirts. I’ll definitely buy a few more. The tanks run about $25-$27. Not bad at all. And, to sweeten the deal even further, ViewSport is offering a 35% discount for Cynthiana Strong readers if you order your shirt by 4/27. Just enter code: CSTRONG35 at checkout. So, go checkout the ViewSport website and grab a tank or tshirt (heck, our whole lifting group is talking about ordering matching ones….) 🙂 Put all that hard work and sweat to good use….
